I had left the force for almost 10 years and hopefully, the SAF today is not what I had gone thru in the past .... the cycle of being tekan and to tekan ppl is so common in the past that every soldier accept it as a form of training and hardship when going thru NS. I believe if I would to carry out such tekan session in today's Army, I might ended up being investigated by the SIB.

What u dont want people to do to you, do not do it to others.

Dont believe in tekan or being tekan. I prefer to reason with them...sometime life is LL, dont like it also have to do...endure lah.... Sad

I agree..... I always hated it whenever my PS during my BMT days tekaned people for no good reason (he got tekan us for following OTHER instructors' orders!!!)

However, when I became a spec myself, I swear to God, I NEVER tekan-ed any of my men. I have never ordered anyone to knock it down or run and touch the tree, or anything like that.

Sure, I really scolded them like siao when they made ultimate screw-ups. One of my men, for example, ran off while his PS was scolding him. He could have easily been charged for insubordination. I just went to look for him and gave him the ultimate 'hair-dryer' session.

I hated having to do that, but, hey, he was going to be a spec himself.
